How old should the baby be during the session?
Newborn Lifestyle Sessions are best when baby is 7-10 days old. This is the time when they are extra sleepy and cuddly and before the time that baby acne usually comes.
What is "Lifestyle newborn photography?"
"Lifestyle Photography" means more natural and relaxed, focused on connection with family and baby and often occurs at home or in a home-like studio. Lifestyle is more real-life and less posed, while still being timeless and elegant. It does not include baskets, props, etc. although toys with family significance or the family pet are always very welcome.
When SHOULD I schedule my newborn photos?
I begin booking newborn sessions when mom is 4 months pregnant and schedule your session for the week after your baby's due date. There's flexibility, of course, because babies tend to come on their own timeline. ;) We generally schedule for that week and then work together to find a date that works for both of us when baby arrives.
What time does the session start?
All sessions at home and in studio begin at 9:30am when the light is most beautiful inside.
Can grandparents be there?
Absolutely!! In fact, having a helpful family member present to help (especially if you have other children) is highly recommended. They are also welcome in some of the photos!
What if i don't think my home would be good for photos?
Don't want take photos at home? No problem! I work with an amazing studio that looks much like a real home! It's timeless, elegant and photographs wonderfully. Studio rental fees are included with package 2 above.
